Since then, the film industry has grown to be one of the most lucrative industry’s in the world and has changed the way humans tell stories for the rest of time. The average American watches about 20 to 30 movies a year, and that’s just in the theatres! Many of the movies we watch are based on books.

However, that does not mean that the books they were based on were that good. That’s because of the big difference between a book and a movie is that a book needs to ignite your imagination through writing, while a movie just needs a plot that we watch acted out. Some of the best movies in history were made based on books that were not even that good. The Godfather (1972)

When the godfather got released into theatres, people from around in the nation waited in line for hours upon hours just to get a seat in the theatre. The movie was based on a book written by Italian American writer Mario Puzo, and despite its great popularity, it was considered to be very poorly written.

Even Francis Ford Coppola who directed the movie was reported as saying that he did not really like the book when he read it. Despite this everyone could agree that the plot of the book was more than what is needed for a great movie, and a great movie it made indeed!
