Rhoni Speed writes in her blog called Living Our Life about what it was like to visit Cappadocia with its cave hotels, fairy chimneys and “ruins” of ancient churches and underground cities. The best thing about each place they went to was the landscape.

She explains how everything is built in the sandstone. The chimneys themselves have a white sandstone base and a black top, which give the illusion of being giant mushrooms. She says you can pretty much get a cave hotel on any budget. And judging by the looks of her photo, I can see why it’s bucket list-worthy.
