The Men & Women of WWE Past: What They’re Up to Now

Tugboat (Fred Ottman)

Net worth: Unknown

Fred Ottman, aka Tugboat or Typhoon, got both of his nicknames spot on. He was a real beat and was known for being Hulk Hogan’s ally. He formed a group called the Natural Disasters (which is when he became known as Typhoon). In 1993, he debuted as The Shockmaster in the WCW and fell over, losing his mask on live TV while his teammates broke character and laughed at him. This obviously hurt his career.

Tugboat is seen as the worst debut in wrestling history. Now in his early 60s, Ottman is enjoying his retirement. He quit wrestling altogether in 2001 and embarked on a rather normal path, getting a job as a safety manager in Lakeland Florida. He also coaches two little league teams where his two sons play.
