Zoe wrote about how she’s felt that before – being instantly awestruck by a guy and thinking, ‘this is the one.’ Albeit those men were characters, she saw on her screen, like Matt Dillon in ‘The Outsiders’ and Marti Pellow from ‘Wet Wet Wet.’ This guy, however, standing there on the train, was in the flesh, real, and she wanted to get to know him.

And then marry him, of course. It was July 2003, and she was an adult, meaning she knew exactly what she wanted (I guess?). Everything about him: his face, his walk, his calmness – despite the fact that he seemed to be running late – made her world feel right. But she didn’t pounce on him. Let’s not forget that she’s British.
